I had a freak accident on New Years Eve with a cork hitting my eye (yes that actually happens to people LOL). I had traumatic hyphema but I was very fortunate that I didn't lose my eye. The ER referred me to follow up with Monterey County Eye Associates. When I called, they were able to get me in right away. Dr. Dautremont was assigned to my case and she and the whole staff were amazing with helping me. The Dr made sure to follow up with her several times to make sure I was healing properly and I'm grateful to say I am completely fine now. I will absolutely be going back for my yearly eye exam with them. Thank you MCEA!

Excellent opthalmologist.  Did Brilliant cataract surgery for me, and I stopped wearing glasses or lenses for the first time in 50 years.  After that he helped diagnose my husband who had a rare neurological disease causing blurriness in his sight.  As a result, after many months we were able to get a diagnosis and understanding of my husband's disease.

He Is the BEST!!!

Featured Procedures

Glaucoma Treatment

A group of related eye disorders often caused by high intraocular pressure, glaucoma can lead to optic nerve damage if not treated. The key to effective treatment is early detection, and our doctors test for glaucoma during comprehensive eye exams at our offices throughout Monterey County. If detected, we can determine the severity of your case and provide a solution to help you maintain your vision.

Glaucoma

Cataracts

When the natural lens of the eye begins to cloud, you may begin to experience clouded vision and light sensitivity. Most common in patients over the age of 40, cataracts are a cause of vision loss as we age. While symptoms can be managed by contacts or glasses, cataract surgery is the only way to remove the clouded lens of the eye. Our eye doctors can develop a treatment plan to suit your individual needs so you can enjoy clearer vision.

Cataracts

Retinal Detachment

If not addressed quickly, retinal detachment can lead to vision loss. Symptoms of a detached retina include a veil over your field of vision or an increase of floaters or flashes of light. If you suspect you or a loved one is suffering from retinal detachment, it is important to seek treatment immediately. Our eye doctors can perform retinal detachment surgery to restore vision and quality of life for patients affected by this condition.

Retinal Care

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, is a cosmetic procedure that removes unnecessary skin tissue and fat around the eyes. We can combine blepharoplasty with BOTOX® Cosmetic injections to smooth the surrounding area and reduce drooping eyelids for a younger appearance.

Cosmetic Opthalmology

Refractive Surgery

Refractive surgeries can treat common visual problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Many patients seek refractive surgeries such as LASIK to decrease or even eliminate their dependence on glasses and contacts. Talk to one of our ophthalmologists to find out if you're a good candidate for refractive eye surgery.
