State-of-the-Art Contact Lenses Monterey / Salinas / King City Areas

Contact lenses are among the most time-tested and effective solutions to the most common eye problems, including hyperopia (farsightedness), myopia (nearsightedness), presbyopia (age-related farsightedness), and astigmatism. At our state-of-the-art optical centers, Monterey County Eye Associates offers a wide selection of contact lenses to patients in Monterey, Salinas, King City, and surrounding areas, including specialty lenses. We are particularly pleased to welcome to our practice patients who have had difficulty wearing contact lenses in the past due to the shape of their eyes, or who have simply never had a pair of lenses that fit properly. Whatever your vision history, we have the resources and talent to provide you with a pair of contact lenses that are perfectly tailored to your needs.

Contact Lens Fittings

Monterey County Eye Associates specializes in fitting contact lenses for people who are hard to fit or who have been unable to wear contacts because of improper fittings in the past. Contact our office today if you’ve had difficulty finding well-fitting contacts; our team will happily custom-fit your lenses.

Specialty Lenses

We offer several types of specialty lenses, including multifocal, custom, and astigmatic lenses.

Multifocal Lenses

Multifocals offer the best of both worlds for presbyopic patients: they improve near and distant vision while eliminating the need for eyeglasses. Multifocal lenses are available in soft and rigid gas permeable materials and are designed for daily and overnight wear.

Custom Lenses

Custom contact lenses are customized to fit a patient’s unique needs and preferences. Options include:

  • Daily and extended wear soft contact lenses
  • Gas permeable (GP) daily wear contacts
  • Bifocal and progressive soft contact lenses
  • Overnight contact lenses (these lenses are worn at night to help reshape the cornea, allowing you to see well without glasses or contacts during the day)

Lenses for Astigmatism

Contact lenses for astigmatism, or toric contacts, circumvent the problems many astigmatic patients have in finding contacts that fit. Toric contact lenses are curved to fit the astigmatic cornea, and a special mechanism keeps the lens in place when you blink or look around.
