I had a freak accident on New Years Eve with a cork hitting my eye (yes that actually happens to people LOL). I had traumatic hyphema but I was very fortunate that I didn't lose my eye. The ER referred me to follow up with Monterey County Eye Associates. When I called, they were able to get me in right away. Dr. Dautremont was assigned to my case and she and the whole staff were amazing with helping me. The Dr made sure to follow up with her several times to make sure I was healing properly and I'm grateful to say I am completely fine now. I will absolutely be going back for my yearly eye exam with them. Thank you MCEA!

Excellent opthalmologist. Did Brilliant cataract surgery for me, and I stopped wearing glasses or lenses for the first time in 50 years. After that he helped diagnose my husband who had a rare neurological disease causing blurriness in his sight. As a result, after many months we were able to get a diagnosis and understanding of my husband's disease.
He Is the BEST!!!

Eric J. Del Piero, MD
Dr. Eric J. Del Piero is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in conditions of the retina and vitreous. A native of Monterey County, he began practicing ophthalmology in Monterey in 1985.
Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Del Piero is especially proud of being named Monterey County Physician of the Year in 2007.
Dr. Del Piero sees patients at his office in Monterey, at Monterey County Eye Associates, and at another satellite location in Hollister. He performs his surgeries at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (in Monterey) and Natividad Medical Center (in Salinas).
Leland H. Rosenblum, MD
Dr. Leland H. Rosenblum is a board-certified ophthalmologist with expertise in advanced cataract surgery, glaucoma care, and eyelid surgery. Since he began practicing in 1994, The Carmel Pine Cone has named him Monterey Peninsula’s Best Ophthalmologist 12 separate times.
Dr. Rosenblum is an innovator in his field and was the first eye surgeon in Monterey County to use the ReSTOR® intraocular lens, the Panoptix® trifocal intraocular lens, the Symfony® intraocular lens, and the Vivity® intraocular lens.
Dr. Rosenblum practices primarily out of his Ryan Ranch office in Monterey. He also sees patients at our Salinas location.
Careen Caputo, OD, MPH
Dr. Careen Caputo is an optometrist with nearly thirty years of experience. During her career, she has received advanced training in diagnosing and managing glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. She is passionate about serving her community and works to increase the availability of quality, affordable eye care for all.
Dr. Caputo can see patients at the Monterey County Eye Associates locations in Monterey, Salinas, and King City.
Kasey Nakajima, OD
Dr. Kasey Nakajima is a third-generation optometrist. She serves patients of all ages, but is particularly passionate about meeting the needs of our geriatric and pediatric patients. She speaks both English and Spanish.
Dr. Nakajima practices primary care optometry at the Monterey County Eye Associates locations in Monterey, Salinas, and King City.
Anna J. Shi, MD
Dr. Anna J. Shi is a board-certified ophthalmologist with expertise in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery and complex cataract surgery. A native of Northern California, Dr. Shi now loves living in Monterey County and providing comprehensive eye care to the Monterey community.
Dr. Shi speaks both English and Mandarin.

Roger C. Husted, MD
Dr. Roger C. Husted was an ophthalmologist in the United States Army for many years before he entered private practice in Monterey County in 1991. As a board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Husted treats patients with cataracts, retinal diseases, and other eye health concerns.
In addition to his role with Monterey County Eye Associates, Dr. Husted is an Associate Clinical Professor at California Pacific Medical Center.
Dr. Husted sees patients in Salinas and Monterey.
Elaine J. Zhou, MD
Dr. Zhou is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Cornea Society. She has published numerous articles in medical journals, written several book chapters, and presented research at various local and national meetings.
Board-certified and licensed in Ophthalmology, Dr. Zhou is a highly skilled physician and surgeon, with broad clinical and surgical experiences. She cherishes her relationships with her patients and strives to take time to listen and understand the unique needs of every patient. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, hiking, running, and playing tennis and pickleball.
