Eric J. Del Piero, M.D.

Eric J. Del Piero, M.D., is a fellowship-trained retina and vitreous specialist and is certified as such by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Born and raised in Monterey County, he is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of California, Irvine and his fellowship training in San Francisco at the California Pacific Medical Center.
Dr. Del Piero is a University of California, San Francisco clinical instructor at Natividad Medical Center and was the recipient of the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Achievement Award in 1999. He has been in private practice as an ophthalmologist in Monterey since July of 1985 and with Monterey County Eye Associates since July of 1998. He is Past President of the Monterey County Medical Society and served on the Board of Trustees of the California Medical Association, representing Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties.

Dr. Del Piero, our expert on retinal diseases, sees patients at his office in Monterey, at Monterey County Eye Associates and at another satellite location in Hollister. Dr. Del Piero was named Monterey County Physician of the year for 2006 and 2007 by his peers, the members of the Monterey County Medical Society.

Leland H. Rosenblum, M.D.

Leland H. Rosenblum, M.D., has been in private practice on the Monterey Peninsula since 1994 and with Monterey County Eye Associates since 1998. A native of San Francisco, Dr. Rosenblum graduated magna cum laude from Brown University. He is a graduate of the University of California San Francisco Medical School, where he is also a clinical professor at Natividad Medical Center. He received his specialty training in ophthalmology at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. He was voted the Monterey Peninsula's best ophthalmologist in 2008, 2009 and 2010 by The Carmel Pine Cone.

Dr. Rosenblum is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and serves on the Board of Directors for the California Academy of Ophthalmology. His clinical interests include small incision cataract surgery, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy treatment, refractive surgery, and oculoplastics surgery. He was the first ophthalmologist in Monterey County to implant the ReSTOR® intraocular lens.

Theresa de Barros, M.D.

Theresa de Barros, M.D., a San Francisco native, grew up in Carmel. She graduated from Mills College in Oakland and from the University of Chicago Medical School, where she also completed her ophthalmology residency and specialized pediatric ophthalmology training. She then practiced in the Chicago area for 10 years before opening her solo practice in Monterey in 1981, where she practiced until 2006. Dr. de Barros is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and has trained family practice residents from Natividad Medical Center. Dr. de Barros is a valued member of Monterey County Eye Associates’ team of ophthalmologists, serving patients in Salinas and Monterey.

Xuan Pham, O.D.

Xuan Pham, O.D., graduated from the Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon in 2000. She has been practicing optometry at Monterey County Eye Associates for eight years. She speaks fluent Vietnamese and clinical Spanish. In her spare time, Dr. Pham enjoys reading and working out. She believes that being able to improve patients’ vision and providing exceptional eye care are among her greatest accomplishments yet.
